Classes are divided by age group: 10-13 (flexible) and 14-18 (also flexible).

Philosophy
Life is full of mysteries.

Does God exist?
Do we have free will?
What is the meaning of life?
Is morality objective or subjective?
Can AI systems become sentient?
Do animals have rights?
Is time real or an illusion?

These questions are deeply interesting and important. And yet, there is no unanimous answer to any of them. So, what are we to do? Philosophy, of course! We do philosophy when we try to answer these puzzling questions (and many others) using logic and critical thinking!
What We Do
Maritime Philosophy Friends facilitates weekly philosophy classes for students aged 10-18. All you have to do is show up ready to discuss philosophy with your peers.
Each class focuses on a philosophical issue or theory. We start each session by getting familiar with the issue or theory of the week, before spending the bulk of our time critically examining it.
